The Margaret River Region’s Augusta is the nearest town to Cape Leeuwin, on the far south-west corner of Western Australian. Located where the Blackwood River spills into Flinders Bay, Augusta is just a short distance from the end of the Cape to Cape Track.

From Late May to August, keen eyes look towards the waters of Augusta’s Flinders Bay, where the migrating humpback and southern right whales gather for a little rest and play before continuing on their journey north to the breeding grounds.

While these majestic creatures can often be spotted close to the shore a whale watching tour will give you the most memorable encounter, getting you closer to the breaching, spy-hopping and tail-slapping action.

Legend Charters, operate our much loved Whale Watching tours daily throughout this period departing daily  at 8.00am, 10.30am and 1.30pm  from the Augusta Boat Harbour and returning 2 to 3 hours later.

Note: 8am tours will be available during June, so you can whale watch before visiting the Cape Leeuwin Lightouse and beautiful Jewel Cave all in one day.
