Humpbacks in Flinders Bay (1 of 1)

Dunsborough Whale Watching

Overlooking the calm and clear waters of Geographe Bay, the holiday town of Dunsborough is a favourite South West holiday destination for Western Australians locals and eastern state and international tourists alike.

Here you can discover coastal walks to secluded coves and beaches, bush trails, scenic drives through the vineyards, local award-winning wineries and breweries, cafes and restaurants to sample local produce – the choices of past times are endless.

Located between the popular tourist town of Busselton and Cape Naturaliste with its still working historic lighthouse, Dunsborough is a popular stop before commencing the world famous cape to cape walk.

Dunsborough’s Geographe Bay is protected by the South West’s most northern point, Cape Naturaliste, and this relatively calm water way is a favourite annual stop along the West Australian coast for the migrating whales including humpbacks, southern right, minke and blue whales.

Legend Charters conducts 2-3 hour whale watching cruises twice daily in this area from September to November, departing 9.30am and 1.00pm from the Iconic Busselton Jetty, Busselton – a short 20 minute drive from Dunsborough’s town center.

This tour provides the comfort of stepping onboard from the Jetty’s platform, rather than a dinghy transfer out to the boat from the beach.
